Shingeki no kyojin manga is commonly known as Attack on Titan. The popularity of this show is because of multiple good reasons like animation, storyline, character, character building, longevity, settings, and its international appeal. Everything, from dialogue to even characters’ personalities, incidents, and so much more, was used in all the episodes to hint towards the last season. So not only is it well planned out, but the anime does a stunning job of following the manga especially compared to other Manga.

    STORYLINE

Eren swore to avenge his dead mother and his journey against very formidable opponents. He had faced failure in training, but his adamant and determined will to eradicate all titans made him overcome all the obstacles in his path, and he evolved as a strong soldier. Whenever there was a difficulty, he would remember his dead mother and did everything he could, however reckless and rash his actions might be, to kill the titans. He disliked people who only desired a comfortable life and thought everyone should fight the titans. He is a typical hero of the story that you see in any shounen manga- passionate, courageous, action before any thoughts.

    IMPORTANT CHARACTER LIST

    1. Eren Jaeger

He fights for freedom and prioritizes his family and friends over anything else. He doesn’t care about anyone’s opinion of him. He had one of the most significant character developments. He went from a kid with anger issues to a man who thinks before acting and is fully contained in any situation, but his ideal has never changed. Many people might say that he is a villain, but no, he is just fighting for the freedom of his people. Eren is one of the fascinating characters one will ever witness. He knows what he is doing is wrong, but to protect his friend’s freedom and Paradise Island’s freedom, he will do almost anything. The way he developed but didn’t change is incredible to witness.

    2. Mikasa Ackerman.

Mikasa is a very complex character.

She’s full of contrasts with different kinds of personalities. She’s shy and clumsy, and she is an Introvert. Though she’s very well capable of fighting against hundreds of soldiers simultaneously, she’d hate doing it. She’s not interested in being strong.

But she’s a responsible person who’d like to fulfill her duty as a soldier.

She’s so proud. She has a noble personality. Some people’s misconception about Mikasa is that she sticks with Eren more than necessary and doesn’t get the same amount of reciprocated attention, and Eren doesn’t care much about her. Mikasa doesn’t idolize Eren. Mikasa’s love for even didn’t pop up out of the blue. Eren initiated it. Her passion is not baseless. She fell in love with Eren because of his personality.

    ● She cares a lot about Sasha.

    ● She loves children, and she has a profound sense of morality.

    ● She falls into a disagreement with the person she’s in love with.

Moreover, though it may be very upsetting for her, she comes to accept her fate as it is and exerts to live on, which is a sign of her healthy, independent character. She’s smart, and she can work on a plan with determination. She is a straightforward girl who cannot hide her feelings. She can never wear a poker face: We can deduce from the director’s speech that she’s pretty innocent and childish. She’s fearless.

    3. Armin Arlert

He’s one of the few characters that most people can relate to, and he’s intelligent, thinks about the bigger picture, and wants peace for the world. He’s awesome.

Armin has many other qualities, such as his massive brain, bravery, loyalty, the way he uses words, and his gentle nature in general. Armin always looks for the solution of least resistance.

    4. Zeke Jaeger

Again, he’s intelligent, and Isayama said Zeke is the only person who ties with Hanje Zoe in intelligence. His father manipulated him from a very young age. One of the most notable characters ever written. Zeke is such an excellently written character. He harbors racism against his race. His actions are a result of his father’s upbringing and manipulation. He was manipulated and used as a weapon to free all the Eldian. Which only leads to the sufferings of his and his parents.

    5. Reiner Braun

He was a Marley warrior sent to kidnap Eren, but he developed over time. He was manipulated as a child into believing that the island is filled with demons, and the reason for him becoming a warrior is that he can live with his father again. But his father did not accept him, and later he found out that the island wasn’t filled with demons, but it was filled with people. He made friends there even though he didn’t know whom to believe. He had one of the most tragic backstories, and his life was not all shiny from the very beginning of his life until now.

    6. Erwin Smith

The greatest commander who ever lived. He is charismatic. He made the Survey Corps charge to their deaths with him so that Levi could get an opportunity to kill the beast titan. He is a tactical genius. He came up with the long-range enemy scouting formation, which worked almost perfectly. He is also intelligent and somehow managed to outsmart Zeke Jaeger at the very first time of their meeting. He is brave. When a titan bit him, he yelled “Advance!” to his troops instead of screaming. Although it was later revealed that he was doing this to find what was in the basement, he finally let go of that dream and chose to die for humanity’s victory.

    CONCLUSION

From plot, characters, and setting. This has the best storyline with unpredictability that it can take on even against GRR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire Series. The complexity of characters and the interconnected back and forth plot of this horror mystery makes this undoubtedly the only manga that can compete against western high fantasy grimdark novels.
